Derrick and Craig were wonderful doing our renovations!  We first met them while they were working in another home in our neighbourhood.  They started with residing our home, converting a garage into a bedroom and then we asked them to continue to over 5 rooms inside.  Every part of the job was done with great care and precision.  Great quality work that stayed on budget.  And lovely fellas to have around too.  They were always responsive and respectful of our needs while living in the middle of a renovation.  And the work is still standing strong!

We were worried about getting someone else to do our siding.  When we visited some other sites of prospective siding contractors, we notice so many deficiencies we had a hard time justifying the installation price if we were going to have to inspect every seam and corner.  Derrick and Craig hand-nailed each piece of siding, and took great care to ensure the siding was install to last.  Our house is very crooked, and they took the time to figure our how to make it look straight and proper.  Each one of our 16 windows are beautifully framed and all the corners are done perfectly so the water will shed away.  We know we won't have to spend our summer ensuring that everything is caulked and nailed properly, and we have received may compliments on how beautifully it turned out.

We had Derrick and Craig from Red-Wheel Construction come and change our deck from the existing wood decking to maintenance free.  The deck is nearly 500 square feet.  When we were given a quote we are advised how long it would take before they were able to get to our project.

As promised they showed up in nearly the exact timeline they presented with their quote.  They were starting on a Monday and we were concerned because we had company coming on Wednesday and would need our deck.  They told me that wouldn’t be a problem and went to work.  They put in long days with little down time, other than a quick lunch and coffee.  They work very well together and are both an absolute pleasure to deal with.  They strive to ensure that when they are finished the customer is happy, and I can tell you in our case they exceeded their goal.  We were sitting on and using our deck on Wednesday night as promised.  The workmanship is excellent, the friendliness is a pleasure and the co-operation is second to none.

My friend, whom was visiting from Ottawa, is a contractor himself doing the same work as Craig and Derrick.  He  could not believe the small amount of wasted material in such a large deck, and remarked on the quality of their workmanship

We have already strongly recommended them to our friends.  We won’t use anybody else if and when we need home renovations in the future.

We had Red Wheel do a bathroom/laundry room renovation in 2011 and were so satisfied that we ended up hiring them to do siding renovation of our home. We requested quotes and Derrick and Craig impressed us by explaining the pro’s and con’s of covering the stucco versus removal. None of the other contractors took the time to do that!  The original stucco was removed so that CanExel Ridgewood D5 siding could be installed. There were parts under the stucco that required repair due to leaks in the 32 yrs since the house was built. This was not unexpected thanks to Red Wheel taking the time up front to warn us of the possibility of rot in the walls. They also replaced the original kitchen window, and enlarged the back door from 30” to a 36” width. Both turned out beautifully!  They work together extremely well as a team and are dependable and punctual. They were calm and knowledgeable when surprises cropped up and had to be rectified. Their adaptable and approachable attitude when asked about making slight changes (or asked for their opinion on finishing trim etc.) was invaluable.  We wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again for future home projects.

Our renovated house looks fabulous!
